Pure Glacial
Mineral Water
www.isklar.no - launch the site
Project overview
Isklar is the new CarbonNeutral® Pure Norwegian Glacial Natural Mineral Water with exceptionally low mineral content. It is sourced and bottled in its native landscape – the Hardanger region of Norway, one of Europe’s most remote and pristine landscapes.
Our brief was to create an online experience - that embodied the glacial wilderness of Isklar’s source.
The challenges
There are so many bottled water brands on the market
Launched by Sabco (an Omani company) and Jova Holdings, Isklar asked Hugo & Cat to create a site that would bring the brand to market with a bang – encouraging retailers to trial it, and consumers to swap their brand of choice. With so many water brands available, and a growiing concern over the ecological impact of bottled water, the site had to emphasise that Isklar is the cleanest and most ecologically friendly bottled water to be found.
What we did
Bringing the brand story to life
Hugo & Cat worked with the Isklar marketing team, and packaging agency Blue Marlin, to establish the brand story to help audiences understand the difference between Isklar and other water brands.
We wanted to recreate the beauty and awe of the Norwegian glacial landscape and provide the user with an amazing experience that felt as if they were flying through the Hardanger region. Patterns of dancing light refract and reflect throughout the site, causing the icy environment to appear and disappear - just like light does as it passes through the Isklar bottle.
The audience can explore the brand and product as they travel through the animated journey – from the icy tops of the glacial wilderness through the pristine, natural beauty of the Hardanger landscape. We selected music by Norwegian composer Jan Garbarek to highlight the authenticity of the proposition, creating an online environment packed with magic and mystery.
"We are very excited and proud to bring a piece of Norwegian heritage back to the UK for the first time in nearly two hundred years"
Peter Krogh, Isklar CEO.
