Senior Designer

« Back to careers

What do we need?

A great senior designer, pure and simple. More than able to pick up a brief and turn it around into great ideas and visuals, with input from the CD and account teams. Someone who can articulate their vision and execute it with style (with the help of a pad and a Mac). A creative with drive and enthusiasm and passion for what they do with the words to back it up.

What would I be doing?

Day-to-day, the role of senior designer would see you working on a range of digital projects, including, web-based, mobile, and some exciting digital in-store. You will need to be articulate, able to communicate creative concepts passionately and to take primary responsibility for the development of design solutions in response to clients’ briefs. You must be able to work under pressure and juggle a number of projects at once, whilst collaborating with and offering support to other designers in the team. The studio is open-plan so there are loads of opportunities to have debate and discussion with other team members from different departments including Copy and UX. You would take part in pitches, client meetings and conference calls - presenting concepts and offering design consultancy to demonstrate your ideas and passion for what you do.

You need to...

  • Be an outstanding conceptual and creative designer with a serious portfolio
  • Have excellent layout and typographical skills
  • Be excellent in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
  • Have a minimum 3-4 years industry experience
  • Be able to work with brand guidelines
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong and varied portfolio of work
  • Show maturity, self motivation, honesty and a hard-working ethic
  • Communicate with clients and the team confidently
  • Be able to establish creative direction
  • Work within both B2B and B2C markets
  • Show passion and ambition in your role

What else?

It is essential that you are able to demonstrate your creative and innovative abilities through an online portfolio. Links to previous websites that have been designed or worked on must be included. Drawing/illustration/photographic/video/audio skills would be advantageous, as would the ability to craft written concepts. A degree/qualification in Graphic Design/Multimedia, or Graphic Design related subject will help, but is not essential.
