Copywriting and Hugo & Cat – our ambition

The role
If you are a copywriter who can write both long and short copy and develop user-centred, story-driven thinking then we want to hear from you. Often working as a stand-alone wordsmith, you create intelligent, smart solutions, showing sensitivity to a brand’s tone and engaging with different sector audiences.
We see you having a fantastic understanding of brand and buckets of creative flair, to shape and define the vision of projects and to be able to enhance the work of others in the team. In this role you will be involved in the entire process from coming up with brilliant ideas, telling compelling stories, creating clear, consistent messaging hierarchies, informative guides, and assuring the quality and timeliness of the delivery. You will have previous experience of working with Art Directors, and Creative Directors, and will be someone who wants to push forward to being a senior copywriter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a copywriter who really wants to hone their skill set and make a big impression.
What you’ll need to be
Conceptual & creative
- Great at coming up with strong concepts, stories, one liners, strap lines and long copy
- Can champion and promote the highest standards of creativity and execution excellence
- Ability to clearly articulate creative strategies and ideas to colleagues and clients
- Can apply knowledge of various content sources and formats UGC, video, podcasts, etc
Writing & editing
- Able to write great copy for the web
- Editing and accurate proofreading
- Excellent long and short copy with awareness of writing for SEO
- Ability to write in a range of tones, to grasp a brand’s tone of voice and develop it online
General
- 2+ years industry experience preferably with an integrated background
- Graduate with an arts degree or copywriting qualification
- Ability to understand and assimilate complex material quickly and produce high quality work on time
- Comfortable attending and taking a prominent role in brainstorms / presentations with clients and colleagues
- Independent, well organised and well motivated; at ease working with multi-disciplinary teams
- Fantastic, fun and ambitious personality
