We are Hugo & Cat. We are a digital creative agency and we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic junior designer to join our creative team to support all areas of creative activity.
Based in Spitalfields, 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Street, Shoreditch High Street or Aldgate East, we have an easy-going, relaxed culture, that values independent thinking and a can-do mind. So, if you are a recent graduate, or a junior designer looking to take your next step – we might just be the place for you.
Who are we looking for?
Above anything else we are looking for someone with drive, ambition and talent - so it doesn’t matter if you are straight out of college or have little commercial experience. In fact, you may still be wondering which area of design you are interested in – be it Brand, Motion, Web or Graphics.
You will need to show us your creative portfolio – with all your best work in. We will be looking for evidence of:
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite (including Photoshop, Flash and After Effects)
- Creative ideas
- Imagination and originality
- Enthusiasm for colour, layout and typography
- An eye for composition
- A keen eye for detail
- Interesting use of imagery and image treatments
- Ability to verbally and visually communicate your ideas
If you are asked to come for interview, we will want you to show us and talk about your college work – because we want to see how you think and conceptualise when there are no restrictions!
In this role you will be asked to support the creative team in a wide variety of activities.
- Contributing to brainstorming/generating ideas
- Storyboarding ideas
- Designing graphics and motion pieces
- Helping to source imagery and making mood boards
- Helping prepare presentations
- Supporting senior members of the team
Above all we are looking for someone who demonstrates desire, has buckets of enthusiasm and wants to do really interesting work. So, whether you are a fresh graduate or a recent Junior, this role offers the chance to really develop your knowledge and to progress your skills by working with some of the most talented people around.
