Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a talented and smart mid-weight Sitecore and back-end developer. Ideally you will have at least 2 years of experience in a digital agency, development agency or a similar environment.We’re looking for a talented and smart mid-weight Sitecore and back-end developer. Ideally you will have at least 2 years of experience in a digital agency, development agency or a similar environment.
You will have developed high-quality CMS solutions using Sitecore or another .NET content management system, and you will be adept at C#, relational databases and Visual Studio.
Last, but most certainly not least, you must be keen to contribute and learn and full of positive energy.
The role
You will be providing technical input into projects throughout their lifecycle and help to promote technical innovation and best practice. You will work with Solutions Architects on the analysis, technical design and documentation of specific components within solutions, with a focus on Sitecore CMS.
You will carry out CMS setup and implementation of bespoke CMS components, and develop other server side solution components – including integrations, domain logic and service layers.
You will be working closely with front-end developers to develop and integrate UI components, and you will need to adhere to coding standards and quality procedures. You will be responsible for the deployment and testing of deliverables.
You must be able to communicate complex ideas succinctly and have the conviction to propose and stand by technical decisions where appropriate.
Your skills
We’re looking for a strong mix of development skills, and would expect you to be able to tick most or all of these boxes:
- C# .NET Visual Studio (2 years +)
- Any other OO language (total 4 years +)
- MSSQL (2 years +)
- Any other relational database (total 4 years +)
- Sitecore (2 years +)
- Any other CMS (total 4 years +)
- Working knowledge of HTML XHTML, Javascript and JQuery
- IIS
- WCF
- Experience with web application architectures
- Version control – SVN or other
- Unit testing frameworks
- Firm understanding of OO principles
- Understanding of the core principles of the application lifecycle
- Continuous integration
Your qualifications
You will need a 2:1 or better in Computer Science, Maths or a related BSc Degree, and it would a bonus if you have a Microsoft and/or Sitecore certification.
Nice to have
It’d be great, but not essential, if you could boast a few of the following amongst your skills:
- LINQ to SQL, LINQ to Entity or other OR mapping tools
- WF
- NUnit
- Stylecop
- FxCop
- TeamCity or Similar CI Build Server
